Given that we spend the majority of our time scrolling on our phones, I feel that it’s important to see what we’re actually digesting when you do so.
Sure, the Internet is full of entertaining shit, but it’s also full of themes and messaging that can prove to be harmful to your every day life. For that reason, I make it a point to follow accounts that offer insight and wisdom, motivation and inspiration, and helpful resources that will aid me on this never-ending journey of becoming better.
I find myself screen-shotting and sending a lot of IGs from these various people to my friends constantly, so I figured, why not share with all of you?! And just to be clear, this is not an ad. These people didn’t ask me to promote their pages or even know I exist. I just love sharing helpful stuff with others, because, let’s face it—we all need some help from time to time.
And these people are sharing gems for free!
@silvykhoucasian: Silvy has become my go-to page to learn more about attachment styles and boundaries (both are weak areas for me, but I’m working on it!). She share such insightful information on relationships and conflict resolution in easy, digestible charts. If you want to learn more about healthy boundaries and how to implement practice relationship skills, she’s your girl.
@the.holistic.psychologist: When I tell you that I thank the Heavens for coming across this page… Dr. Nicole LePera is like my dream come true. As you can tell from her handle, she combines a holistic method to her psychology practice which in turn offers her followers an extremely graceful yet helpful approach on what blocks or trauma they may be facing in their lives or relationships. Along with awareness, Dr. LePera gives very practical resources and guides on how to approach some of the work you may need to do to overcome your hurdles.
@drkatebalestrieri: Dr. Kate is a psychologist who specializes in Trauma, Addiction, Sex & Relationships. I had the pleasure of sparking an IRL friendship with Kate recently and not only is she great at what she does, but she’s become an empowering role model for those who strive to tap into the multifaceted sides of themselves regardless of society’s limited scope of how we “should” live our lives. Her posts are relatable and honest and definitely worth a double-tap!
@gottmaninstitute: I became acquainted with The Gottman Institute during one of my Instagram deep dives (you know, the ones where you see a post you liked then see who originally posted it, and all of a sudden you’re on this mini scavenger hunt). I was instantly drawn in, because they approach relationships and connections through research, which made my inner nerd especially giddy. This is a great resource for those who are more of left-brain thinkers.
@coupleslearn: Dr. Sarah Schewitz is an online therapist for those who may face some resistance when it comes to feeling safe in relationships again. Her page offers great advice for those who are either looking to be in a relationship or for those who are currently in a partnership, but want to actively improve the dynamic with their partner.
@mindfulmft: Vienna Pharaon is a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist, and chances are you’ve seen her IG posts on your feed, or even reposted one of her posts yourself! This is one of my absolute favorite pages to follow, because you’re almost guaranteed to come across a quote that makes you go, “Ohhhhh, shit” every day.
@BryanReevesInsight: Bryan is a Life and Relationship Coach. While his content caters to everyone, he tends to speak more toward the male experience and offers tips and resources for men who are striving to have healthier relationships and intimacy. He’s also Silvy’s partner, so you’ll see her pop up on there, too!
Last, but certainly not least, make sure you follow our IG page @probwithdating, because duh.
